Help save lives.
Become a member of the pack and you will have the ability to change the lives of both humans and animals, forever!
Volunteers are the foundation of our rescue and the key to our success.
Without Volunteers & Fosters, there is no Rescue Pack.
The strength and support that comes from our volunteers and fosters, allows us to achieve our Mission & Vision.
They are a dedicated, selfless group of individuals who are passionate about wanting to give companion animals the security of a safe and loving environment.
All volunteers are appreciated and valued and will have a voice in shaping the direction of the rescue’s growth and activities.
So many ways to get involved.
-
Data entry – Keep database updated to accurately track donations; animal medical records; volunteer, foster and adoption applications and status; and volunteer timesheets.
Inventory control – Monitor and input on-hand supplies and place timely restock orders. Unpacking and organizing of supplies.
Donations – Sort and inventory donations, organize and maintain order for easy access by fosters. Maintain lists for what is needed and not needed.
General Office – Answer phone calls and direct to appropriate personnel, respond to emails and requests, as needed. Manage front desk on a set schedule.

Review Applications: Review and process adoption applications, communicate with prospective adopters and connect with fosters to help make good matches. Walk adopters through the adoption process, answer questions and help facilitate the animals into their new homes!
Adoption Coordination: Facilitate the adoption finalization: sending necessary records and contract; link to pay adoption fee; let adopter and foster know when all the paperwork is done and the animal can be transferred!
-
Pack Ambassadors: Be an ambassador for The Rescue Pack at various community events to raise awareness of the rescue. Talk to event attendees, answer questions and recruit new volunteers and fosters, and encourage donations.
Other Event Support: This role may include selling tickets, merchandise, or helping manage attending animals, assisting in getting equipment set up or torn down. Volunteers ages 12+ can volunteer in certain roles with a parent/guardian, and ages 18+ can volunteer alone.

Fundraisers are critical to raising much-needed funds for the rescue, building awareness, enlist additional volunteers. Volunteers are needed to plan and coordinate fundraising events, and then execute the various steps and activities to have the event happen successfully.
-
Foster - Help save lives by fostering animals that need a temporary home until they are adopted. The rescue provides all food, medications, veterinary costs, toys and training guidance. Fosters provide a safe place and love for the animals while in their care.
Foster Sitters - If you aren’t able to foster for longer periods of time, foster sitting might be the answer. It is the same as fostering, but for short periods of time like overnight or weekends when the foster is out of town.
-
A pre-medical team of volunteers administer standard intake medications. These volunteers ensure that each animal at intake receives the standard medications, document weight and identifying features/color and fit animals for collar and leash.
Other responsibilities of the vetting team are: scheduling spay/neuter surgeries, additional vet appointments and maintaining medical records.
-
Become a member of our rotating core teams who welcomes the animals when they arrive from transport. Help unload and care for each animal until they are picked up by their foster or foster sitter. During this time, they are walked, watered and fed. They receive a full examination by a veterinarian, and medications and vaccinations are given. Photos are taken. Food, toys, medications and care instructions are provided to fosters.
Volunteers for this area must be 18 years of age or older.

Local driving: Help take animals to scheduled vet appointments, adoption events or picking up and dropping off supplies to fosters.
Transport Driving: Pick up and transport animals from various locations, depending on where the shelter is located. Transports require two individuals to share the driving. Overnight stays may be needed depending on location, which is covered by the rescue. Drivers will likely need to assist in helping transfer the animals. Transport may include walking and feeding the animals during transfer and cleaning some crates. Transports would primarily be on weekends but could occur during the week if emergency transport is needed.
Volunteers need to be 18+ or older and have a good driving record and insurance.

We always need more volunteer veterinarians and vet techs to do exams, vaccinations and heartworm tests at intake. This is an area where there is lots of love and care given by our awesome volunteer vets and vet techs who work to make sure that our animals are getting all the appropriate medical care they need to have a healthy and happy life.
